First off, I have used several brands of power cords and so am familiar with the impact they can make on your system's performance. In my system I use an Audioquest Niagara 1000 power conditioner and upper range cables from a different well-known and regarded manufacturer. However, I recently rearranged my listening area and needed a longer cable from the wall to the Niagara and so after researching several cable options and talking to the folks at Audioquest I chose the Hurricane. I installed it and let it break-in for 24 hours before sitting down for some listening. I'm confident that the cable isn't fully broken-in yet but I could immediately hear the improved difference. The best way I could describe it is a more detailed sound, that instruments and voices were more clearly differentiated, that there was more space between them. As the cable continues to break-in I expect to hear even greater benefits. The Hurricane matches very well with the Niagara but I'd be comfortable also using one directly with my amp. One of the reviews I read suggested using a Hurricane with the power conditioner and one of the other cables in the same Storm line (Thunder or Tornado) with your amp and source components. That way you'd get most of the benefits these outstanding cables offer but save a little money. In sum, I highly recommend the Hurricane power cable for any user and feel that if you're using an Audioquest power conditioner then this cable is actually a "must.
