“I purchased a pair of these BEL E88CCs for a recent tubed dac purchase (Musical Paradise MP-D2). The DAC arrived and had fairly substandard sound quality given all the rave reviews I had read. The sound was muddy, with no sound stage depth, or height, and the higher frequencies were missing altogether at lower volumes. Decreased gain. Congested, 2-dimensional sound where instruments were firmly anchored to the speakers. Enter the BEL tubes. Wow! It's like a totally different piece of equipment. The change was so dramatic I could not believe it. The sparkle, air, sound stage depth is here! The gain (digital out) is now matched with the analog outs on my CD player. The description provided above is accurate. These tubes do offer more energy up top. There is also a little bit more low end oomph. Slightly fatter sound down low in this DAC, but not annoyingly so. Highly recommended tube if you're looking to restore or capture the higher frequencies in your system. And they operate with no detriment to the mids and lows.”

“Well one more time..these tubes are just great for my setup... I need to order another set.. thanks again Uncle Kev.. have played these more than my other approx.. 100 tubes.. For whatever reason these just hit my ears perfectly.. Even my Telefunkens..I know I know,, Telefunken tubes are supposed to be the best but for me these are great! The headroom is fantastic..take care all..Duane...”

“Update: Well finally got some good hours on these and I can tell you these are great for the cost! Really smooth in my equipment. They are very nice. Also we know that Uncle Kev will not sell junk tubes. Thank you again Uncle Kev. He also stands by his word if you have one that does not meet up to your specs. They are great!”

“These tubes are very nice however I do not know if it is just me but they seem to have a lot of head room have not got them broke in yet.Maybe 20 hours at the most. In my application they are just a tad bit noisy but you can just barely barely hear it. No big deal for me. I usually play my music fairly loud anyway. I am using these in a WOO WA3 PREAMP (by the way I love this amp with the pre amp option for the money) with the recommended 7236 power tube. They are a bargain and worth the money and beside Uncle Kev would not sell junk anyways. Give them a try for your collection. You will not be discourage, depending on taste I guess. Another thing they are getting scarcer every day I am sure.”

“I have several pairs of vintage Phillips SQ's, so I put these tubes to the test. I look for the SQ Sound Signature and the Dynamic Footprint. To all readers after several rolls I can say with out a doubt these are real SQ's, I never doubt Kevin, I'm just one who always checks. Got to be one of the greatest finds in tube hunter history, big thanks to Kevin and the crew. When I cataloged these tubes I gave them the path from Kevin to Bangalore to SQ's and came up with "K-Bang SQ's" pronounced "Ka-Bang SQ's" these are an awesome value. I have bought two pairs, these are a top shelf roll for sure.”
