“they bought best mech than put it in an empty box. freq resp not flat . they publish no specs. hate small packages, makes me think im not getting anything. its hard as hell to buy audio nowadays, nothing available in a store. very comparable to a $700 cd player. the audiolab 7000cdt.”

“Excellent service and follow up from Upscale Audio. I had a problem with the remote not working out of the box (it had a couple of loose screws on the back, one missing that I later found in the packaging, and the battery was jammed sideways in its compartment) but their service department is working to get a replacement for me. Otherwise, the RS2T works and sounds great and I'm looking forward to being able to use all its capabilities via a working remote.”

“The only reason this unit is getting a 4 star rating is because the 1st unit I purchased was defective right out of the box. Upscale resolved that problem and the replacement is functioning flawlessly so far (a little less than 50 hours to date). Many years ago I owned a California Audio Labs DX-2 player. It had a remarkably sweet sound. The CD Box RS2T is voiced similarly but with greater resolution (detail and instrument separation). It is powered by Pro-Ject's Power Box Uni and feeds a Chord Quetest DAC (which is powered by an LPS). The combination provides hours of non-fatiguing listening for my Redbook collection and re-mastered HDCD's (SACD's are unreadable). Newer cd's will display album and track titles but while the display is adjustable for background and brightness. I wish I could switch between elapsed and remaining time. Whether or not this transport is worth the price depends on how it sounds in your system. Synergy is very real. Should you consider auditioning the unit...absolutely!! I am pleasantly surprised by it's performance.”
