“Noticed 3 dimensional sound stage with great detail and silence . Don't have it hooked up to my higher end system yet due to remodeling. So I don't feel I can give this product a fair review as of yet . Time will tell . Will be up grading my turntable to a mc cartridge in the future . And possibly my turn table also .”

“I purchased this to replace an older Cary phono preamp (PH-302). I will echo the other reviews, it is clear, rich and incredibly quiet. The best phono stage I have had in my system in terms of musicality and a bargain at the asking price. I am using it with a Hana ML and couldn't be happier with the sound. My system is tube based and its sound is very dependent on the tubes used (example: 60's Mullard ECC82's in the preamp). It is very refreshing that this sounds so great on new production tubes and brings piece-of-mind that when it is time to change tubes the sound will be the same after. The Chinook was backordered when I placed my order. Kevin's Team was in constant communication updating me with the estimated ship date and even reached out to talk through the system it was going to be placed in. As always, Upscale service sets the standard.”

“I went through several other phono preamps before deciding on the Chinook. It possesses the clarity, detail and flat out richness I hadn't found with the others I auditioned. I will say, give it the full allotment time to break in. Night and day from when I first turned it on. Upscale was great in helping me narrow down my choice. Hats off to all!”

“I adore my Chinook SE phono preamp! I'm coming from an EAR 840P and the increase in detail, richness, bloom and soundstage is very impressive. I'm re-listening to favorite old records and hearing nuances that I never heard before. Very impressed with this unit! Well worth the money!”

“Replaced ear 834p with chinook. Tube monoblocks, quad 2912's very noticeable improvement in many areas. Very pleased with this purchase.”
