I don't even know where to begin or how to describe the performance? I upgraded from the ClearAudio Concept with Satisfy Carbon Arm. I absolutely loved that table, but I knew I was missing something more? Everywhere I turned, it was Dr. Feickert this, Dr. Feickert that... So I did some digging and it was all the rage from all the reviewers. Then I remembered something Kevin Deal said in one of his videos. He said something to the effect of Write ups and reviews are great and important, but what are the people writing these reviews using? That's the question. I noticed that Ken Davis is using one, Kat is using one, other people I follow are using one. So, I was like, that is it, I am upgrading. Before I get to the review of this incredible turntable, please let me talk about the people that helped me through this journey. Ken and Kat went WAY BEYOND the call of duty. These poor people had to deal with my ten thousands questions I had about everything. I would have hung up on me. LOL Nope, not these pro's... They were so patient and understanding. They really wanted to make sure we were spec'ing the right gear for my needs. Their tag line at the end of all their videos, is 100000% true. They really do treat your system like it is their own. Ok, now what you really want to hear (Pun intended): The tiny bit and I mean ever so slight of shrill the concept had at the top end is GONE. Smooth and flat, but not even close to being rolled off. The midrange, forget about it!!!!!!!!!! Warm, fat and more pronounced. I don't want to say forward, but all the instruments are now more present with out being over powering. You get the sense of more detail and depth in the image. At the same time so light and delicate. It is like the stylus is just barely touching the record. It is hard to explain? The bass is fast, tight, accurate and plenty of it. There is more bass now than what I had from the concept. I am a huge bass guy and I am not wanting for more, may actually have to turn it down a hair, whaaaaaaaat?!?!?! Record surface noise: We all have some records that no matter how many times you clean them, they have the good ole snap crackle an pop... Well, that too, has almost disappeared. Mind you, I am using the same SoundSmith MIMMC Star from the Concept and they installed it on the Volare. I am telling you this table is magic..... I picked up this unit on Thursday. I spent literally all weekend listening to just about all genres of music (Rock, Metal, Jazz, Female and Male Vocals, Classical, Swing/ Big band) and not one of them sounded any less than incredible. I was not fatigued at all. One of my many many questions to Kat was, I want to go with the Kuzma Stogi 9" arm, but for what I am looking for and I could only do one of these things: Should I upgrade to the Kuzma Stogi Reference 9" arm or do the linear power supply? Without hesitation, she said do the power supply. I am glad I did. I can't believe what a difference it made. That power supply is a must have!!!! The Cons: Well they are not even cons, per say? The volare is not forgiving on bad recordings. If you have a bad sounding pressing, the volare makes it known that it is a bad recording...It does not make a bad recording sound better, I almost think the opposite, it makes it sound even worse. I think this is a PRO, really. This unit is so detailed in its reproduction of music that you get all of it. good or bad. The Pro: The is just the opposite of the Con... If you have an exceptional recordings and you always thought it sounded really good on your current/ old table? Well, guess again....... This table takes these incredible recordings to a whole other level. This made me realize why "Audiophiles" seek out these 1st/ OG pressings and/or reissues on Audiophile labels. All I can say is Holy %^$&*! If this or any other Dr. Feickert turntable is within your budget and you a super serious about your music? Then you would be absolutely crazy not to get one. You would be even more crazy, if you did not get from this first class team at Upscale Audio...

Given my system and budget, Kat suggested Volare TT and power supply with Kuzma tonearm and Sumiko Starling. Absolutely incredible sound from this package. Shipping was prompt, equipment was well packed. Cartridge set up is excellent.

I am a new happy owner of a Dr. Feickert Volare in Walnut. The quality of this turntable is amazing. It is super heavy and the finishes are top quality. I received assistance from Sean Paul. He was great since day one. All my emails were answered fast and responding all my questions regarding the purchase and setup of the TT. Also, he was super kind in receiving a cartridge I already owned and have it installed and aligned. I was super impressed with the way Upscaleaudio packs the turntable so it arrives safe and with zero damage. Overall, great experience and will definitely buy from them again.

Hi Wilfredo, Thank you so much for your review. We are very proud of the level of care and attention our Analog Lab puts into every turntable. The Volare is proving to be extremely popular and for good reason!

Bought my Volare from Sean this past October with no cartridge. I didn't want a cartridge from Upscale as a few weeks earlier I bought a Zu Audio/Denon DL-103 factory direct, but since Sean heard that I had this, he could professionally install it at no additional cost. I was elated ! Sent my cartridge to him and he sent me pics that showed my cartridge mounted onto the tonearm. BTW, the advertised tonearm is NOT that of the Origin Live Silver Mk 3a, but even a newer version ... the Mk. 4. Fedex delivery driver brought up my double boxed over 60 lb box up the stairway to my second floor condo unit and wondered what the heck was in it.... Appearance is compact, but heavy ! Quality... The only gripe I had was setting up the anti-skate portion, as it was shipped with a Origin Live Silver Mk 3a manual that really was not specific on the set up of this anti-skate section. TIP: there is a 'grub screw' directly on the UNDERSIDE (not made clear in the manual -- otherwise I wouldn't have taken over 8+ hours within the first 2 days trying to figure out WHY it was going loose within moments of *supposedly* tightening the *top side* screw so much I thought I would break the piece it was mounted to... Post purchase correspondence emails to Sean-Paul or to Dr. Chris Feickert *himself* and to the *Origin Live* factory by emails were *promptly answered* ! Upscale Audio and Dr. Feickert personally *and* Origin Live have provided excellent customer service ! Upscale just needs to update their ad to reflect that it comes with the Origin Live Silver Mk. 4 tonearm version (not the 3a) ... Sweet doing business with Kevin's company ! First product I ever bought from Upscale was the Primaluna's 35 watt tubed Power Amp back in April 2008.

Let me first start off by thanking both Kat and Sean. They are both amazing humans and really make this whole process just so much easier. This is my first turntable, and likely my last. I will try to keep this short, but I need to explain something first. For over a decade now I have been caught in the upgrade hobby... chasing what's next, or better off saying, "What's better". I can't believe how sucked in to this ridiculous hobby you become, and it just happens so quickly. It was about 6 months ago I decided I just needed to get back to music making me smile. I had fallen so far down the rabbit hole of analyzing every piece of gear that I would acquire that music... MUSIC.... the one thing that has been a constant in my life, the one thing that I turned to as an escape has become something more than just sitting back and letting the world go by. Take this as a warning all of you young audiophiles... don't lose sight of what got you started here. Remember that first time you heard something and it just clicked and made you smile? Ya, stop chasing that... there is no "better" it's all just flavors of the same. Ok, let's talk about the Volare. Well, Kat recommended the Volare with the Origin Live tonearm and Sumiko Blackbird. I just wanted to sit down in my favorite chair and have all of my music just take me away to another place. I am happy to report that Kat did an amazing job of absolutely nailing what I wanted with this setup. I couldn't be happier with it and I would HIGHLY recommend Upscale... well, specifically Kat and Sean to help you with whatever you need. Speaking as someone that has never owned a turntable before... the Volare was pretty easy to setup, but PLEASE...PLEASE buy a dust cover for it if you live anywhere in the world that has issues with static electricity. I overlooked this at the time of purchase and regret it every....single...day. The winters here are brutal and I just cannot seem to get static off of my albums or turntable. Here's hoping that the spring will release some of that awful garbage. ;D Kudos to Kevin here, as he is 100% genuine when he says that he's gotten the best people in the business to help out. I wish I lived in CA, or could travel.... 2020 and all... as I would 100% make a trip over to thank them all in person with a lovely bottle of bourbon.

Great turntable! Ken patiently worked with me over several conversations to understand my priorities and budget and help me arrive at the perfect fit for me - the Feikert Volare with Origin Live Silver Mk 3A tonearm and Hana ML cartridge. I was running a Rega RP6 with a Dynavector 20X2H -no slouch of a setup - and had some lingering concern that the difference would not be worth it. Boy, was I wrong - the Feikert/Origin/Hana combo is a MAJOR improvement in every way. First observations - the Feikert is dead quiet - deep black backgrounds. Next, the separation of instruments and voices is considerably better. the classic "I'm hearing distinct new instruments that I never heard before!" Third, detail. I listen to a lot of acoustic music, and for the first time I can really hear the fingering on an acoustic guitar or bass, and I can hear the bow scraping across the strings of a cello or violin. Yet there is no edginess - it simply sounds more complete, more "right". Fourth, impact - transients are quicker and drums are more impactful. Overall, I'm shocked at how much better vinyl sounds overall through the Feikert combo. Highly, Highly, Highly recommended!
