“If possible the 6550EH is an even better tube than the KT88EH, and if you've used that one you know thats high praise. I really like New Sensor power tubes in general. I use many of them and in my experienced-amatuer opinion, the KT88EH and Gold Lion are virtually the same tube, with the Gold Lion recieving more QC/QA and a really spiffy paint job. Again, from me that high praise and if you like New Sensor tubes as I do, you should know this about Electroharmonix; its the parent company and really the corner stone of the whole schmeer. They are in NYC, and manufacture mostly higher-end gadgets for sound processing for Electric guitars and amplfiers. Jimi Hendrix, and also David Gilmour of Pink Floyd fame were a couple early users of Mathews' Gadgets. Mike Mathews who owns all of it,still manufactures in New York USA, and pretty much measures his success in all things by how well Electroharmonix is doing.Personally i dont think you can go wrong buying EH tubes, quality-wise, on top of thier being a great value, just FYI.”
