“The gold tips don’t cost that much more vs non. So why not? The higher ARC grade is also not that much more than a less precise pair re possible unwanted harmonics, so again why not? The fact that Upscale actually tests these tubes is again a “why not give them patronage”. Upscale prices don’t really reflect the cost of them testing them. Certainly not the associated labor costs. So at the end of the day…. It’s a no brainer, buy your tubes of what ever quality you prefer & buy them from Upscale Audio.”

“The only place I know of that grades their tubes for audio. As a result, I know exactly what I am getting not; let's purchase 10 tubes and see which one works the best kind of hit-and-miss game that probably does not work.”

“These tubes really woke up my Audio Research LS17SE, replacing the tired original Sovtek 6H30Pi tubes that came with the preamp from the factory. Bass extension and power was much improved, as was realism of vocals. A great improvement in sound quality for a very reasonable price.”
