“I replaced the standard Electro Harmonix tube with the gold pin version, because I was looking for a bit more detail from my Herron Audio VTSP - 3A preamp. Adam's advice was spot - on and I got that extra level of detail that I wanted. The new tubes were a little bright and zippy for the first 20 hours, but they settled in quickly so don't panic after installing them. The brochure that came with the tubes mentioned up to a 100 hour break-in period; so, hopefully you won't have to wait that long to see if you accomplished the upgrade that you were hoping for. The tubes were properly packaged, and they arrived on time; so, it was a first - class purchasing experience.”

“This tube sounds very organic with powerful low end, natural sounding mids and sweet highs. It has great soundstage width and good depth. Sounds sweeter than my Matsushita 7DJ8 with more power on the low end, sounds better than my Reflektor 6N23P in terms of how natural it sounds and has more sparkle than the JJ, which to me sounds too mellow. Highly recommended. A great tube at a great price.”

“Good sounding tubes, not the best buying experience tho. Sadly, the tubes never arrived so after 3 weeks I contacted UpScale Audio to see if they could see what happened to the tubes. To find out the tubes were never shipped I had to ask for the tubes to be expedited rather than Upscale offering to expedite the tubes because of the mistake.”

“Every system has it's own sound and no 2 are alike. I bought a set of these for my Audio Research LS25 preamp and they just weren't what I wanted. The sound that I sought just wasn't there. I have since replaced them with a set Kat O. suggested and I am blown away by the sound of the new tubes.”
