“These Tungsram are the real thing. I purchased these for a complete ground up restored Eico HF-81 that is running NOS Mullard 12ax7 and 12au7 tubes (Upscale Audio purchased in 1999-2000) with Eico branded Mullard Blackburn EL-84 which are excellent. The Tungsrams match the Mullards in every way and top them. They have a degree of 3D detail that is astounding. The sound stage becomes deeper. String instruments in quartets have their distinct places. Piano notes are just right with weight and ring in the high notes. The background vocals on Linda Ronstadt Nelson Riddle "I Love You for Sentimental Reasons" are distinct but blended as if they are standing there. Linda's vocals are smooth and full. Diana Krall is magic. The Tungsrams are smooth, detailed, extended and just fantastic. Supposedly the Amperex Bulge Boys, review in Vacuum Tube Valley magazine, topped the Tungsrams. If they do, then you might as well have a Holodeck from the Starship Enterprise in your home with you there at the performance because the sound of the Tungsrams are just that good and it would take the Holodeck to top them IMHO.”
