“I bought these without auditioning due to covid keeping me out of stores, and because one of my 20-year-old Deftechs was having amp issues. These Goldenears are great! Sweet non-fatiguing highs, clear midrange, and amazingly tight and deeper-than-expected bass with just two 5" woofer/midranges per side. I'm still a recovering bipole fan, but the Goldenears are winning me over. They're my 3rd Sandy Gross speaker, having started with Polk 10's in the 70s (from the legendary Audible Difference in Palo Alto) before moving on to VMPS Tower II SE's (which I auditioned at Brian Cheney's house; RIP Brian!), then the DefTechs (another Sandy Gross design), and now Goldenear. They may not be the last word in neutrality (I wish I could have compared them to the Revel F35), but they are so much fun that I don't care.”
