“These tubes were purchased for a PS Audio BHK preamp. Unlike the previous BHK owner who mentioned startup whine from standby with these tubes, I have had no such issues. It is well known that the BHK pre produces some clicking noises when changing volume and these do occasionally produce some mild clicks. However, these are among the quietest in that regard among the many different tubes I've used in this preamp. I find Upscale's description of this tube to be quite accurate. It is particularly notable for its resolution and tonal saturation. I find this tube to have near ideal characteristics for my system and see little reason to use more expensive NOS tubes when these sound as good, if not better.”

“These absolutely rock my world. Compared to the stock tubes (no comparison honestly), more definition especially in the bass, instruments are fuller, soundstage (width, depth) are much more significant. Money well spent. Back to rediscovering the favorites again. Very happy with the entire experience with Upscale Audio (appreciate their tube background, details. Being new to tube rolling, this was much appreciated information).”

“Surprisingly good, even in comparison with Mullards, which are getting too hard and expensive to find. I live these better than the Brimars in my Rogue Sphinx V3. Quiet. Dynamic. Nice mids and highs. Good base. I think I'm done tube rolling for a bit. These are nice.”

“Been running the Gold Lion 12au7's for about 60 hours so far in my PrimaLuna Evo 100 int/amp, and I believe it has improved the overall sound quality some. Don't get me wrong the original PL tubes are fantastic, and I was very pleased with them, but you know how curiosity goes. I've replaced the 12ax7's and 12au7's with Gold Lion platinum/cryo tubes. so far, and if I had to put a percentage on the increase in sound quality it would be about 15%-20%. The Evo 100's sound stage is a little better, and the bass seems a little tighter with the GL's. The way this system works is the more power I put to it the better it sounds, and when other stereos I owned would complain when I really put my foot in it, this PL really shines, and says yeah that's the way I like it. It's astounding!!! I always get great service from Upscale Audio, highly recommended.”
