I haven't tried too many different brands of tubes, but I really like these. I have a pair in a Conrad Johnson PV-10BL and it's hard to imagine anything sounding better.

I am purchasing a Rogue Audio DragoN Monoblock. Each contains a single 12AU7 as the front end, feeding an integrated Class D amp module. Rogue uses JJ tubes, but has told me that the Gold Lions are "warmer" than the stock tubes, and will sound more like my now superseded Stereo 100 dark amp. When amps received, will be comparing sound with both tube types. A previous purchase of the Gold Lions yielded a significantly better sound from my Backert Labs preamp.

I replaced the original 12AU7 tubes in my PrimaLuna Premium Prologue preamp. Have been using the Gold Lion almost daily for the last couple months and I love the soundstage and warmth they produce. I also want to mention that the original Primaluna 12AU7 tubes lasted almost 12 years!!!

My BHK preamp has developed a pop noise when I change any input. Contacted PS Audio and they suggested replacing the two 12AU7 tubes. I see that Gold Lion tubes are highly rated, sought after tubes and came upon Upscale Audios web site. I watched a YouTube video and was impressed with their tube “philosophy”. So I tried to order 2 12AU7 tubes from Kevin’s stash or platinum grade at either $80 or $90 each. When I went to my cart it stated, “ You can only add 1 Gold Lion ECC82 / B749 / 12AU7 - Kevin's Stash or platinum / No Cryo to the cart”. I contacted them and received a quick response, Hello, we have some limitations on certain tubes depending on how many we have in stock and how soon we can replenish our stock”. I did go back and ask if can order twice to get 2 tubes and if your out of stock when could I expect to be able to order two etc. and am waiting for a reply. I can understand that you might not want to sell one person say 12 tubes when that’s all the stock you have. But you must have some in stock or I wouldn’t be able to order anything. As a customer who would like a matched pair, why would I order one tube and not know when I could get the other? Seems silly to me.

Hi Mike, Thank you for letting us know about the issue that you had. There was a short time when this tube sold faster than we could test them. We have resolved the problem, and the tubes can be easily ordered.
