Great however some difficulties pairing the remote. Rose Connect software seems a bit glitchy

I bought this streamer before I even understood what it could do. The UpScale Team talked me through it so I purchased it. It arrived within five days of my order, but I was still intimidated by all that it could do. I took the shipping package it came in, inspected it and the box was perfect. I left it sitting in my storage area for a full year before I finally thought I'd tackle it. I got the 1TB memory and CD drive as well for it. Figured it out after a bit; and burned my first CD ever...WOW, now I can get rid of all my CD's i thought....well, it takes alot of time to burn 500 CD's so that task got post poned until retirement....I put the unit away, again for another year. I spoke with a stereo sales guy who showed me some dCS toys that did the same thing as the Rose, only much better and at 7 times the cost of the Rose....so I went home, set the unit up, and with some help from my stereo guy(s), got it fired up....and now am listening to it on a rountine basis. My system is all Prima Luna Tube (from UpScale) and it really sounds great...at the price point, it's still a bunch of dollars, but the VALUE of it really saved me from spending another $40K on dCS Rossini gear....on down the road....but for now, the Rose is so cool. Not a techy and I figured out what i needed to in order to operate it's basic functions; to burn cd's and listen to various music services. Its way cool and the bank to buck, is merely a streamer that punches 10 times above it's weight class. You wont be disappointed with this unit......and while a $40000 dCS unit will replace it, i get 80% of the performance and listening pleasure NOW, for about $35000 less.....i'd give it 10 stars...

I have this streamer set up with a high end amp and speakers, and it sounds wonderful. Everyone loves the big screen that shows what is currently playing. And the screen is readable over a fairly wide angle. I am using it as a Roon end-point, so set up was trivial. It does sound a little better with a high end external DAC, but the internal one is quite good.

This streamer is awesome it has great sound and access to some free content. I like concerts and videos so the 4k steaming feature compliments it. There are lots of features and controls. The manual could be better but there's a lot of content on youtube. It takes a little time to get to know it. I purchased an Apple mini ipad to control it. I'm using the Prima Luna Dialogue Premium amp and preamp. The speakers are Arial 948. With the HiFi Rose bass seems deeper and more defined along with everything else. Hi-Res music brings listening to another level so I signed up for the Qobuz. I purchased a 1 year sublime subscription, it was just under 200.00. For me, the 4k video feature was the real surprise. I'm very satisfied with this streamer and would recommend it.

I wanted to leave this review for everyone at Upscale Audio who helped make this ambitious dream happen. My new kit is a Primaluna EVO 400 integrated amp, a pair of Goldenear Triton 1.R's, and a Hifi Rose RS 150B, with Cardas Cable Parsec cables & Interconnects. (pay no attention to the Kenwood KD 3070 that's on borrowed time until I decide on the upgrade!) Let's start off right at the heart of it all. The Primaluna is beyond belief. In addition to its stunning, conversation starting, sexy curves and lines looks, it has outrageous power! What I absolutely love about its sound, is the complete absence of it. Musicians know that written music MUST have rests between notes and phrases, or else it's just noise. The EVO possesses the ability to express voluminous sound, with an equal measure of silence. This makes music genuinely appear LIVE in your room. No hiss, hum, just beautifully dark nothingness when there's nothing being played on a track. I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to switch from triode to ultra-linear mid track to find the best presentation to my ears. My primary source component is the Hifi Rose RS150B. It is the "yang" to the EVO's "ying". With the power off, it is a monolithic beast on my stand. Beautifully milled, matte and glossy finishes that are only improved upon AFTER you turn it on. The display is eye-popping! Once you get the basic setup complete its playtime! Remarkably easy to customize in a variety of ways. But the "gimmick" side of this streaming dac/preamp is quite intuitive and the touch-screen is very responsive! I have had this unit for about a month now, and am still learning more and more. I have installed a 2TB SSD in the unit to store music and it was a 2-minute job. However, the instructions on hiw to load music to the SSD are not the clearest. I use Qobuz as my music service and the enormous variety of hi-res music sounds astonishing. The combination of the Rose and Triton 1.R's powered by the EVO is anything you want, brought to life in your room. Timing, tonality, detail, depth, and imaging are spacial, textural and fill my room (and the rest of my house when I relive my teenage years and crank it up) Wife & I recently had a dinner party and the kit was immensely enjoyed by all. The quality of sound was beyond what anyone attending had ever heard and 2 others (musicians like myself) experienced the same state of "Wait! What just happened there?!?" on a few tracks, having heard something they had NEVER knew existed in a song they have heard hundreds of times before. Nuanced, powerful, entertaining and beautiful. A special Thank-you to Sean S. who worked diligently, with extreme patience and perseverance. You personally helped me achieve this dream and I will repeatedly share my amazing experiences with others. - Scott Achenbach / Lansing, MI
