“Trying to give this streaming thing an honest shot and added the RS250A to what had been primarily a vinyl rig (MH Stealth DD with Sumiko Songbird, Rothwell MCX SUT, HH Scott 222 vintage integrated, Klipsch Heresey IIIs). I did not have good luck using WiFi to connect as I repeatedly lost connection to the Rose server. This seems a common complaint in the user forums btw. 50 feet of Ethernet CAT6 and a few drill holes got me plugged in and stabilized the connection completely. The sound quality just using Apple Music was quite impressive right from the start. Fulsome soundstage and very detailed. Played around with A-B switching between the vinyl and digital sources both playing Leon Bridges Golddigger album. Just a touch more glow in the vinyl presentation to my ear, but both sources sounded excellent. I also added the RS780 CD drive/ripper and a 4TB Samsung SSD internal drive. I ripped a few CDs and playback sounded great but no real difference from the streaming source so I probably will not use the drive much. The Rose tube app is a fun add and works well. The Rose App/OS is a bit wonky but I am slowly figuring things out. There's a ton of functionality so lots to try. Qobuz trial and some higher res material are next on my list, so far so good . . .”
