“In the space of 3 weeks I had put these speakers in my CART and then backed out of the purchase. Even at the sale price they are pretty expensive. But, they WERE on sale and at over half off for the refurbished pair. Unlike many of the sound rooms you see on YouTube where even semi-professional reviewers have listening rooms that are incredibly messy, unkempt, and disheveled, mine can be seen from the living room and its appearance is important. While form DOES (and always should) follow function, I don't think it should be too far behind. They walk hand in hand with these Focal's. Yes, they sound amazing but they are visually stunning as well. I took a real leap of faith with these speakers and had more than a few conversations with the folks at Upscale about what kind of performance I needed from them. In all my years as an audio enthusiast (over 40) I have never interacted with a more knowledgeable sales staff. I tip my hat to their expertise and for their straightforward and honest counsel concerning my purchace of something so very critical as a pair of speakers sight unseen...or heard. So, how DO they sound? I am not going to go down the audiophile road and use any well worn (worn out?) buzz words to describe how they perform. Suffice to say that they deliver in every category that those of us who are seriously into sound find important. Fit and finish are, well, perfect. You can keep your piano black, I will revel in my dark walnut. Close to perfect.”
