“Kevin's videos about Focals and the 1038 may sound like hyperbole to some. He is decidedly a passionate pitch man. Thing is, it's all true. I had excellent Martin Logan Expression 13A electrostatic speakers with a PS Audio P15 power plant, DSD DAC and BHK 250 amp. The system was top notch, but to my ears it lacked soul, particularly high frequency soul. I feared a switch would result in a loss of transparency and other fine electrostatic traits. I also feared brightness from the beryllium tweeter. Joel from Upscale reassured me they would be just as open and smoothly disappear into the room. He, too, spoke more than just hyperbole. Everything he said came to be and I could not be happier with my system now. Only the possible improvement with an integrated Prima Luma Evo 400 intrigues me. I have not had tubes since in my 20's I built a Dynaco Stereo 70. Amazed that it worked at the end of my labors, I enjoyed it for a number of years until my budget for audio increased. Tubes "just keep popping in my head" as Angela Lansbury said in Sweeney Todd.”

“I rate as a 4 star now only because I live in an apartment so I have these set up at my gfs house which I’m at on the weekends so I just haven’t had enough time with them. I will tell you I love what I’m hearing so far though. When my brother and I pulled the first one from the box my gf said “omg that is beautiful”! And she is right they look amazing. Just need to get more listening time. Also I worked with Mike and Scott on this deal and wow some great dudes. No up-sale and knowledgeable. I’ll be coming back from more gear if I survive the 19 in 2020!”

“I primarily listen to rock music. The mid range and high range are spectacular. Extremely good clarity and the separation is amazing. The base is crisp, not muddy at all. They gave new life to my music collection. My only critique is that they lack the base and presence I was hoping to gain over my old speakers. But overall great speakers....no regrets.”
