“I was unprepared for the difference in sonics that I experienced moving from a Lyra Delos to the Kleos SL. I wasn't sure how much of an upgrade this cartridge would be over the entry-level Lyra Delos I've been using for years, but, WOW, is it ever an upgrade. There is so much new detail with great transparency. I am hearing new timbres in instruments on some records I've listened to for 20 years, with a tremendous soundstage that makes the music pop more than I have previously experienced. As with the Delos, the fast and accurate tracking is a standout quality that is particularly noticeable in the transients. I am tremendously happy with this upgrade. The SL version of the Kleos seems to be particularly vibrant paired with a transimpedance gain stage or phonostage. I'm running it into a Sutherland SUTZ and then into a tubed phonostage, and the combination is magic. With the right amplification, the SL is highly recommended. As always, huge thanks to Sean-Paul for steering me in the right direction, and for the patient conversations over many months that helped me feel confident that I was making the right move. Upscale's Lyra trade-in program is a huge bonus and a great incentive if you are thinking of moving up in the Lyra line.”
