“I recently purchased a Denafrips Venus II 12th R2R DAC to go along with the new Lumin U2 streamer. They replaced an Oppo Sonica DAC/Streamer that I've had for the past 5-6 years (which contains the same ESS Sabre chip as the Oppo UDP-205 player). After only a few days of burning them in, this new combination completely blows away the Oppo in every musical direction. Much deeper & wider soundstage, and individual instruments are more clearly defined and "separated" from each other. I think my old DAC must have been "broken" because when I went back to it to do an A/B comparison, I began to get a headache from the harshness of the treble coming out of the Oppo after only 1 song. I never knew what I was missing, it's as if I just bought a pair of much better speakers! Can't wait to see what happens when the Parasound JC2 BP comes in to replace the P6 in a couple of weeks...”
