“This is my second Monitor Audio speaker purchase from Upscale (Silver 300 floor stand speakers was my first and they rock!!). I ordered the MA Gold 100's in the Gloss Piano Black to match my Silver 300 speakers. I am using my new Monitor Audio Gold 100 speakers in a nearfield setup on either side of a Dell 4K 32" monitor, and I pulled my desk back two feet closer to me from the wall to give them room to develop imaging without a boomy bass. I have not inserted the port bungs. This puts them at a bit of a disadvantage as they appear to benefit from a placement farther out from the back wall. The MA Gold 100 speakers are still breaking in although that should end in a week or so. I know from the Google machine that they need time to cook. In the first few days of listening the bass and treble did not sound integrated and the overall sound was tight, constricted and "polite" (mid-range suck-out?). I am nearing 500 hours break-in and these speakers are now totally amazing. Detailed, dynamic and such a great integration between the 6.5 inch RDT II long-throw bass driver and the MPD high-frequency transducer. In short; the Monitor Audio New Gold 100 speakers are the best speaker purchase I have made since my Vandersteens in 1987. I cannot know your components or your application, but the Monitor Audio Gold 100 speakers are amazing--as is Upscale Audio's service and communication. So very glad I am an Upscale customer!!”
