“I purchased this item as an upgrade to the amps I was using (Crown 2502, Marantz PM7005) and I am not disappointed. First, this amp matches well with speakers with metal tweeters. There's no rolloff on the top end but it is stepped back compared to the Class D amp I was using. Imaging is on point and sound stage is deeper and wider. Vocals are crisp and clean. Background vocals come more into the foreground.... almost like the lead singer and background vocals are singing around a campfire instead of behind the lead singer 10 or so feet. The highs, mids and lows are very balanced... neutral. I'm using a Gustard P26 as the pre and a SMSL M500 as a DAC with Tidal/Roon as the source (MacBook Pro). And for those of you who are undecided on whether or not Roon is worth it or not (like I was), as of now there's a 14-day free trial. But beware...I tried the 14-day trial and made the Roon purchase and stopped using Audirvana. Yes, there's a difference.”
