Added 4 of these to the linestage section of my doge8 preamp. Which I use for my videos on the hifi cave, and I love them! They are smooth and warm like I expected. ... but there is more to these tubes than traditional mullard smoothness and warmth, they shine on the top end, and grip in the bottom end. The top end feels a bit sparkly (for a mullard) and there is that hint of extra shine (not glare). The grip in the bass, enhances textures and contrast between notes, and made the speakers and subwoofers using high level connections to give extra sense of realism specially with live recordings. Kevin’s video pretty much nailed it! Oh and they arent 350$ each... umm yeah. This is what I am talking about! Very happy!

This is my reference tube for my vintage Sonic Frontiers SFL-1 pre amp. It simply lasts for years, never failed. I only change it when I hear a hint of grain through my CJ PV11A, Rega Saturn, Nordost/Cardas cabled system via Focal 906's which has been about 5 yrs of service on average. Though expensive...I believe in the cryo treatment for longevity and transparency of sound. Though that is subjective it has been happily absorbed from this pre-amp/tube combo going on 20 years.
