“This was my first purchase of "used" equipment from Upscale Audio. Not only did the unit appear new, I learned from Manley Laboratories afterward that the preamp had been bench tested by their senior tech before Upscale offered it for sale. Upscale Audio continues to impress me with their degree of Customer Service. As for the preamp itself, I matched it with a pair of custom 300B monoblocks, built by an electronics engineer near 1990, based on schematics from the 1960's. Each monoblock has a pair of Western Electric 300B tubes, providing power to a pair of 1977 Klipsch LaScalas. The Manley Neo Classic 300B Preamp replaced a high quality vintage European tube preamp from the early 1990's. The improved sound quality provided by six 300B tubes is exceptional: rich, vibrant and 'alive.'”
