“I have been wanting to upgrade my current DAC ( Wyred 4 Sound DAC-2v2SE 10th Anniversary Limited Edition ) to a PL EVO 100 Tube DAC for a good while and to upgrade my current ( Pass Labs X150.8 stereo amplifier ) with a tube amplifier to compliment my current highly modified LAMM Preamplifier. The PL EVO 100 Tube DAC performed so well, I decided to get the PL EVO 300 Integrated Amplifier. After a good run with the stock tubes in both PL audio gears, it was time to roll some tubes. Current Tube Status: 1. EVO 100 Tube DAC - 2 Gold Lion U77/5AR4 rectifier tubes / 2 Radiotechnique 12AU7 / 2 Tung-Sol 12AX7 ( I will be posting product reviews on each set of tubes soon. 2. Highly Modified LAMM Preamplifier - 2 NOS Premium 1967 CV4109 tubes / 2 Radiotechnique 12AU7/ 1 NOS Raytheon rectifier tube / All Duelund VSF Caps and more. 3. EVO 300 Integrated Amplifier - 4 Gold Lion KT66 power tubes / 6 Radiotechnique 12AU7 tubes. (Note: I will be posting a product review on the EVO 300, KT66 tubes, and Radiotechnique 12AU7 tubes soon.”

“It’s hard to review a component that could be so dependant on your equipment and room acoustics. My experience with the Evo 100 Dac is that it is the icing on the cake. Currently running: Prima Luna Evo 400 integrated Dual Rel S510 subwoofer Signal Cable speakon cable Yamaha S1000 cd as transport Revel F206 Performa speakers Signal Magic power chord Blue jeans 10ga. Belden speaker cable Did the the Evo 100 make a difference in my system? Hell yes!!! (Needs about 6-10 hours to burn in). I’m not good with all the audiophile descriptions but it just makes digital sound as close to my old vinyl as I’ve ever heard. I would highly recommend this dac. I would encourage anyone to reach out to Kevin and the Upscale team. Maybe they can help you as they did me.”

“Bought this to replace the DAC portion of the Bluesound Node 2i that I use to stream with. It is a huge improvement and well worth the money. It sounds much tighter and precise than the 2i and musically much better as well. Looks great too! I have this in my 2 channel system with a Macintosh MA352, Paradigm Prestige 95F's and an Audioquest Niagara 3000 for power conditioning (which I thought blew away the Furman IT reference 15).”

“very pleased with the sound, improved my system a lot. easy to operate. I had one little problem with the USB connection, it wasn't working at all, so I switched to an AES/ebu cable and now it is fine. Also fine with a Toslink. I did a lot of research and the PrimaLuna was the right choice; Upscale's staff was excellent too.”
