“The Sumiko Pearl is my go-to utility phono cartridge for daily record playing. It does most everything very well. The sound is fairly balanced with a slight roll-off in the higher frequencies, which is okay when you have a "bright" system like mine. Tracking is above average with minimal IGD. It took me some time to get it dialed-in to the sweet spot, but my patience paid off. Channel separation is exceptional at 30 dB. I was also surprised at the amount of details I'm hearing from a cartridge with an elliptical stylus. So overall I'm very satisfied with the Sumiko Pearl. For a budget cartridge, it can't be beat.”
