I purchased this turntable in combination with the Hana ML cartridge and Pro-Ject DS3 Phono Box. The 5 star rating is for Upscale Audio. Their team did an amazing job helping me select a turntable ideal for my setup, and they provided an immaculate assembly and callibration of the turntable/cartridge prior to shipping it out to me. This included detailed picutures and easy to follow instuctions opon arrival. Great for somone like me who has never setup or even owned a turntable before. The Upscale team, no matter who you talk to, are extremely knowledgeable and actually use the products they sell. These guys are awesome! However, I would give the turntable a 4 out of 5 star rating. I was very impressed by the overall build quality and execution of the design. The magnetic suspension is very well executed and is easy to adjust for perfect balance and leveling. The tonearm is very light and nimble, ideal for MC cartridges. The table runs very smoothly and provides a wonderful soundstage with very quiet operation. This turntable looks absolutly stunning in person with the platter hovering over its transparent acrylic plinth and matching 3 legged pointed style feet. However, 3 months after using this unit, I have noticed a speed varation causing pitch variances (almost like standing long notes are underwater, i.e. the same note or tone goes up/down). And this occurs with almost every 33rpm record I own. I investigated further and after taking measurements, there is about a +0.35% variance on the 33rpm speed which explains why it is audible to my ears. The 45rpm speed is less than half that, which confirms my guess as I do not notice the pitch variance at all on the higher speed. Even so, this is not acceptable for a turntable as this price point. I am currently working directly with Pro-Ject to have the belt and/or motor replaced. This unit also came with a rubber washer that fell off opon arrival that had to be glued back on. So, I am questioning the quality control of these turntables. Pro-Ject support has been pretty responsive and promised they would make it right. If it wasn't for these two issues, I would give this turntable a solid 5 out of 5.

Great turntable a bit of a challenge in regards to placement and final setup. Upscale staff did a great job verifying this table set up as well. Really great communication from the staff. My four star rating is the result of the less that stellar power supply and the clamp that is supplied with this turn table. I am guessing I will find an upgrade for the power supply. Over all clarity is a 8 out of 10. The cartridge is definitely a plus to other MM cartridges. So 8 out of 10 there! Fit and finish 9 out of 10 at this price point you won’t be using factory supplied inter connects. Record clamp is a bit of a pain but it tames the over all play back 6 out of 10 here just because it is the extra step on every play. Tone arm is light and fluid in its movement I need to get use to such a light arm but cue up is easy due the cartridge design. Must say this is the first time I have bought a turntable unheard but the experience with Upscale Audio was a definite 10 out of 10! My thanks again for making this such a pleasant experience. Would I purchase this Turn Table yes I would it replaced a Cambridge Avila set up with a Grado Sonata 3 cartridge in case you wonder what I am basing my thoughts on.

This table was an upgrade from a first line model of the Pro-ject Xperience. The numerous upgrades in the motor, sub chassis, plinth, and tonearm assembly is evident to the eye and ear. Although, granted I did upgrade the cart also to a Sumiko Songbird from the Blue Point No.2 is a point not to be ignored however, the play of this new table is awesome. The motor speed selector makes for switching from 33 to 45 a breeze and the levitating sub chassis is super cool if not a highly effective buffer to any vibration of the smallest caliber. Very, very happy with the upgrade to this table!
