“Update from prior review from which a MM Ortofon black cartridge was used. Purchased a new Moving Iron cartridge with an output of 0.5mv, therefore use of the high gain (58db) on the preamp was required. This is where the shortcomings of the Pangea cable were revealed. A significant hum increasing with increased volume made listening intolerable. I could even hear a faint radio station broadcast which became extremely prominent when the ground was disconnected. Through after much trouble shooting I finally swapped interconnects with an Amazon double shielded cable and the hum went away. Repeated the swap a number of times and the same result occurred.”
