I'm not sophisticated enough to describe the sound with the sort of flowery language one frequently sees in product reviews. So I'll simply say - Great product at a great price. What's not to like? Five stars for Upscale Audio too.

Still Sounding good Not saying it s the best out here you have to know what you are doing. Like set up turntable tonearm . Cartridge . good recording. All so get the .ACCU .BOX S2. The s2 is a good source. Help me pick the next phono stage.

this phono box sound real good it is not a push over. I have the ultra 500 phono box with the Accu box s2 high end power supply . before i had the ( Moon by Simaudio 110lp V2 phono ) the Ultra more excellently sound quality . make sure your turntable is set up an speed is 33/3 tonearm . also get the ACCU box s2 high end power supply. To set turntable speed get the (KAB) SPEEDSTROBE.

This is a decent phonostage, all though I have not tried too many. Subjectively I think it sounds slightly worse than the integrated pre-amp on the Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum. However, that's a tricky comparison because one is a tube stage that's part of an expensive integrated amp. The Pro-Ject also has a much lower noise floor, compared to the original Cronus Magnum. I do get some noise, but that could be environmental as I have a fairly noisy EMF environment. No phono stage is noise-free, and the noise I did get was only when I played nothing and turned up the volume on my pre-amp very high. It didn't affect normal listening. The jumper switches were a little confusing, but I was able to figure them out after a bunch of google searches and looking through the manual. As far as audio quality goes, I'm very happy with the device. My records sound good and crisp.

I bought this Phonostage on the recommendation of Bill at Upscale Audio to pair with the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO Turntable. It is super quiet, small and can be left on at all times discreetly out of sight behind the turntable. The only recommendation I would give to anyone considering the same pairing is to use the 3DB boost switch setting as it was too quiet without it.
