“I had a PrimaLuna 12AU7 tube go bad about 7 months after I bought my PL Evo 100 int/amp. I then started on the journey of trying different tubes. I went with all Mullard new production, which is a very fine sound, like Kevin said, it sounds Rubenesgue. Then went with all Tungsol, which was very dynamic. I after awhile decided that I liked the sound of the Mullard's better. I then got 1 new PL 12AU7, so I could run all PL tubes, and after about 20 hours of playing I'm back on the PrimaLuna tube train now. It's my favorite sound for the Evo 100. Like to be able to buy all new PL tubes for my Evo 100, but from what I've seen on Upscale Audio's website, are in very short supply.”

“The PL 12AU7's came stock in my new PL Evo 100 int/amp, and loved the sound with these in the 100. Had one tube go bad after about 7 months of heavy use, and that's why the 4 stars, but if not for the one failing I would have given them 5 stars. I had a pair of Platinum GL 12au7's that I bought a couple months ago, and have them installed now, and they sound great, but personally I liked the PL 12au7 sound better myself. I would have ordered a pair of the of these PL 12au7's, but they aren't in stock, so I ordered a pair of Mullard new issue 12au7's Kevin's stash to see how they compare to the original PL's.”

“I prefer using Primaluna 12au7's in #3 positions, NOS Mullard,s & Brimar's in 1 & 2 positions positions. Thanks for the great sounding tubes you provided for my PL Dialogue Premium preamp!”
