Right out of the box I knew this was a new experience for me after 10 years of solid state amplification. No more worries of tube trepidation; and the sound is sublime. Wow! Now after break-in, all the CDs, vinyl and HD FM are a joy to listen to. In particular, the palpable voices, instruments and ambience of the performances, especially some of my favorites: Mary Black, Holy Cole, Tony Bennett and the Gilberto family all are in the room. Orchestra's with Reiner, Schwarz and Hovaness are alive. With my previous very fine solid state amplifier (Anthem) I listened to only a select few of thousands of albums. Now I am trying to listen to everything (there isn't enough time in my life). These recordings now challenge the live performances I attend. The PrimaLuna ProLogue Premium Integrated is the perfect match for the Golden Ear Triton Two Towers with the powered subwoofers and modified Heil driver and D'Appolito arrayed midranges. Just like Kevin Deal of PrimaLuna (Upscale Audio) stated, the ProLogue Premium is in a class with the multi-thousand dollar Wavac amp I used over ten years ago. But the PrimaLuna has foolproof user safeguards and convenience with continuous auto-bias for tubes (EL34x2, 12AU7x2), all transformers protection, tube usage wear indicator LEDs, excellent remote control and other technical advancements as well as superb build quality at an affordable price.. Getting back to the music, everything (even not well recorded material) sounds lifelike, believable and enjoyable. So I am back to listening more at home and avoiding high priced tickets, crowded venues, and bad driving and parking conditions. PrimaLuna may mean "first moon" like genius designer Mr. van den Dungen has named this little gem but to me it means the many moon's of the nights I will be listening to the best sound I have heard yet.
