This turntable sounds great, looks awesome, and was simple to setup, especially considering all the work that Upscale did up front.

Alright, this was a game changer! Mine came with the gimbal tonearm and I'm glad. With the excellent set up and help from Richard and Sean this thing was delivered and set up without any major glitches. Built like a tank but with finesse! Purchased the acrylic cover for it also. I would highly recommend this table. Got the Hana M series cart with it.

Extremely pleased with this purchase. Upgraded from a Pro-ject Debut Carbon Evo. I had upgraded the cartridge in the Pro-ject table to the Ortofon 2m black (which was probably overkill for that table). When I bought the VPI, I sent the cartridge to the good folks at Upscale and they did the setup for me. Fantastic sales support and setup from Upscale. When I received the VPI, unpacking instructions were clear and easy. The sound? Outstanding. Everything you expect is just better - detail, dynamic range, sound stage, presence, the whole enchilada. Wonderful. Two comments on the VPI. First, the tonearm takes a little getting used to, as the base of the tonearm sits on a needle, so it can move/tilt around (it's lose). Extra care is required when playing a record, lining things up so the stylus comes down where you want when you lower the tonearm. Second, this is my first table where the motor is not part of the plynth. Once I inadvertently moved the motor slightly when turning the table on, and the record was playing at a lower speed. Lesson learned. It's not a big problem as the table itself is very heavy, and the motor is pretty heavy as well plus it has rubber feet. No big deal, just a couple small things I needed to be aware of with this new table. Overall, extremely pleased, and the folks at Upscale are just awesome. Great communication and support throughout the buying and setup process, follow-up to make sure I'm happy, my sales guy (Richard) was very attentive and focused on me having a very positive experience.

Fantastic deal! Was eyeing the Scout back in 2005 but ended up buying an open-box Music Hall MMF7. My My, how the Scout has evolved through the years. This heavily upgraded Super Prime Scout was too good to pass up. Unfortunately have had some system problems that prevent serious evaluation. At first the unipivot design was a bit intimidating. Adjusting tracking force and azimuth both with the counterweight seemed counterintuitive. But with a little practice the process comes together and is easy to accomplish. Tracks and plays very well. As a side note: If you cannot afford the Prime Scout, the MMF7.3 will not disappoint.

Unable to review at this time, still has not been removed from box. Have not had the time to set it up, but would like to review it after some listening time.
