I'm not complaining about the sound of this player though it isn't better then the rig I was using before I bought this one. The pretty high cost of this even though it was a refurbished unit was a little surprising. But, that isn't even my real problem with this unit. It is missing some basic features that I have never seen absent from any other player I ever used or have observed. It doesn't have a alphanumeric keyboard so I cannot just enter a particular track I want to hear, rather I must scroll scroll scroll through the numbers to get to it. When a CD is finished playing it does not revert to the beginning so I can play the disk over again, I must scroll scroll scroll backward this time to get to the beginning to replay. You also cannot scroll past the end to more quickly get to the start or conversely scroll past the first track to more quickly get to the last track. So annoying. This player retails for $10K and I paid half that which isn't inexpensive for these no-brainer features to be missing when it would have cost virtually nothing to program them in just like every other player in the universe. So much money was spent and therefore cost me to have a tank-like heat sink where there isn't any need for CD players are pretty darn cool and I have never seen anything like it on any other player including the ones I own. My conclusion is this player looks great and matches my Nu Vista 600 amp but, is too expensive for cosmetic reasons, and is lacking basic user interface features that even the cheapest players have and sounds no better than CD players/DACs plus Transports that I already own. It does have a pretty nice view screen that I can easily see from where I sit and includes the song titles that other players don't have, but that still doesn't justify the enormous price premium this player asks.
