I've had a pair of these for 2 years now and have never regretted buying them. They're incredibly clear across their frequency range, though as noted elsewhere, lack much output below 50 hz. So a subwoofer will definitely help with movies, EDM, hip hop, etc. As compared to the Elac Debut Reference 2.0 bookshelf speaker and Elac UniFi Reference bookshelf speakers that I owned previously, these sound much larger and more detailed. But they're considerable more expensive. Check out the review of these by Erin's Audio Corner; it's accurate and detailed (like these speakers). In case it's helpful, I've found that these pair very well with the Rhythmik E15HP2 sealed 15" subwoofer. Even in a 3,500 cubic foot room, that 2.1 setup provides a highly gratifying experience with both music and films. I have wondered, though, whether just getting the bookshelf version of this speaker (M126Be) and a great sub (e.g. Rythmik) would provide a similar experience at a lower cost. Happy hunting, Tom

The speakers are excellent on the mid to highs but definitely do not have much output on the low end. I knew this when purchased and really enjoy them when matched with a musical subwoofer.
