“I changed power cords and tubes (which cost more than the CD Player, but they can be used elsewhere if necessary), and I am noe quite happy with the sound of this unit. The CDs start up right away (which is not always the case from my experience), and the HDCD decoding is great for me as I (still) have quite a few HDCDs. I now have two HDCD players on hand which is good as these are a dying breed. This is my favorite of the two, although the other one will probably get more use in the winter months as it has six tubes in it (instead of two) and it makes a nice toaster by my office setup...”
