Sorry for the length of this piece but, I am over-the-top excited about these amplifiers...... A little over a year ago, I decided I would re-kindle a hobby that started back in the 1970's when I was in high school. I still had some of my old vinyl records and first thought I would just restore some of my old equipment and get a new set of speakers. Well, I ended up buying multiple turntables, an integrated solid state amplifier and a bunch of other stuff. My father always had tube equipment and my first system had an old tube amp that he built. This made me gravitate toward looking for the sound I fell in love with back in the day. After spending countless hours researching tube gear, I didn't find anything that I believed would meet my budget or my needs. I knew I didn't want my tube sockets mounted on printed circuit boards nor did I want the electronics subjected to the heat that most lower end amplifiers produce through ridiculous plate voltage specifications. Then I found Kevin Deal and his fantastic videos explaining the benefits of PrimaLuna components. This was a true audio epiphany for me. And to boot, he owns the highly rated Upscale Audio showroom and store. He speaks my language! In February of last year, I decided to take the plunge. I own a vintage Hafler preamp and dipped my to into the PrimaLuna sea by purchasing a discontinued ProLogue Four amplifier from Upscale. I was floored by this amazing little amplifier. Shortly after that, I purchased a ProLogue Premium preamp from Upscale. Things just kept getting better and better. Then this past summer, I had a little extra cash in my pocket and picked up a pair of Klipsch Forte IIIs. I was shocked how well the little ProLogue Four matched with these speakers. Fast forward a couple months and Kevin posted an informative video about the discontinued DiaLogue Six Monoblocks. I had been toying with purchasing a DiaLogue stereo amplifier or DiaLogue Seven Monoblocks. Based on Kevin's excitement about these amplifiers and after doing some research on my own, I contacted Upscale and began emailing back and forth with one of their online sales folks. I finally decided on purchasing the DiaLogue Six amplifiers. I have never been happier with any system I have ever owned. I have friends who own "crazy expensive" systems and they are just shocked at how my system sounds and how little I spent for everything I own. Don't get me wrong, all-in, I probably have about $17K into my system with turntables, phono stages my DAC and cartridges but, some of my buddies have well over $100K into their setups. These amplifiers are absolutely amazing! The separation and imaging that these monoblocks provide is truly astounding. I'm probably only utilizing about one watt of the seventy that the amplifiers are capable of (in ultra-linear mode) but, along with my Forte IIIs, my listening room sounds like a concert hall. Having two output transformers per channel is a game changer. Listening fatigue is a thing of the past. There is no "cross-signal" or melding of sound with these monoblocks. The difference is something that cannot be described. Only experienced. If you don't need the bad tube indicators or the internal differences that the DiaLogue Sevens posses, these amplifiers are a must have. The purchase price is so very low for the quality they exude. All I can say is, scoop up a pair before they're all gone! Jon Smiley - Austin, Texas
