“I give this one five stars! Mounted on my Thorens TD-125/Sorane TA-1 tonearm, its performance is shocking to say the least. Do take the time to dial everything in. I'm running with VTA about 1mm low in the back, VTF at 2.0 Grams and A/S about 1.3. This cartridge just sounds fantastic. Does need a few records to get good and seated, but when it's ready, it'll sing just like a songbird. Preamp loading is set at 100 ohm with 60db of gain. I tried 200 Ohm loading, but found it made the cart a tad to edgy. 100 seems to be the magic number. If you want a fantastic sounding cart, you must check out the Songbird.”

“Great dynamics and detail, but the stylus shape makes it forgiving with less than perfect records or brighter non audiophile pressings. It has been a big improvement over the Eroica H that I was using before. You do have to be more careful with the naked stylus design, but the sound is fabulous!!”

“My first purchase of a MC cartridge (High Output) and wow! I am sad I did not make this change sooner. This cartridge is everything I have read about. Smooth when needs to be and in your face (Rock Genre) when you want it to be. Extracts everything from the grooves. I am thrilled that it is producing like this in the initial 150 hour break in period. Well worth its price tag. Excellent job of setting it up and ensuring a safe ship by the great staff at Upscale Audio.”

“The songbird is a very nice cartridge with a lot of detail. Drums are very crisp and tight. A big improvement over the blue bird at a decent price. Much easier to handle when mounting it on the tonearm. That was a big plus. Also, buying it at Upscale Audio was a good purchase because I received it in 3 days.”
