A phenominal cart and tracking and sounding divine on my VPI scout. Like Peter's business model too. Costs for a refresh is very reasonable, so one can keep in the game without major loss at end of cart's life. The workmanship on this cart is stellar. As lovely to look at as listen to.

Good upgrade also, sounds so much better than the virtuoso on my old marantz tt.

I bought this cartridge to replace a Ortofon Quintet Blue, which I loved, and this Soundsmith completely blows it away. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, and I can already hear details in my music that has made it like hearing old songs for the first time! I spoke with Richard @ Upscale about several different carts, and he was able to provide me with great information, which helped my decision process immensely. My Soundsmith Zephyr MKIII is mated to a VPI Scout 1.1, with JMW Memorial 9" tonearm, VPI JMW tonearm cable, Vincent PHO-701 phono stage, and Emotiva monoblock amps, speakers, and processor. I couldn't be happier with the sound.

I've had my new Soundsmith Zephyr Mk III ES for about 4 weeks now, and i am totally satisfied with it. I went from a MM cartridge to this high output moving Iron cartridge and I didn't have to switch my phono stage to MC. This cartridge has a very detailed sound to it. It's also pretty neutral sounding, which I like. Buying it on line with Upscale Audio was very easy and it was mailed out with tracking very fast! I will definitely do more business with upscal audio. Oh, and I use this cartridge on a VPI Super Prime Scout 21 turntable, which I also bought from Upscale Audio!

I ll give a five star for the service, but I have not been able to actually use it, I am still finishing to build my system. Speakers are next for me but I am currently working outside of the US and can’t wait to be back.

This is a great sounding cartridge! Other carts I've owned have been audio technica ATmL440, Shure M91ed, Gardo Opus, and a Benz Micro/ Glider, This cart is super detailed with great low end and zero inner groove distortion. I've run it on a AR-XA vintage table and a Schiit Sol table. Sounds great on both. It just brings everything to life. I like it even better than the benz glider. Because it's moving iron with 2.5mv it can run on a MM phono pre as well. Built in the USA and rebuilt for only 20% of the original cost. I don't think I would buy another high end cartridge other than Soundsmith. Solid craftmanship I love it!
