I received my new subwoofer from Upscale Audio promptly. The product was exactly what I expected, but what really impressed me was the experience of dealing with this excellent company. When it arrived, you could tell they spent a lot of extra effort protecting the item for shipping as it had to ship through a freight carrier on a pallet. High quality sound equipment in the hands of a freight company is always a gamble, but it was obvious that Upscale Audio went the extra mile to protect the subwoofer by adding protective packaging and “fragile” labeling to the manufacturer’s box. They even put a cone on top of the pallet to prevent the unloaders from double stacking other freight on top. I’m looking forward to doing business with them again in the future and you should too! Thanks Upscale! P.s I really enjoy your product videos Kevin, very cool! - John

They should be five stars. Really, they should. Elac, Andrew, (Kevin help), fix this. The sub hardware itself is a five star sub all day long, particularly at Upscale's price point. I got a couple. They arrived stacked on a pallet, like a previous poster noted. Boxed like superstars. Imposing. Masculine. I heard 2001: A Space Odyssey's soundtrack playing in the background. I'm a fairly burly 51yo and I got the job done myself, but it took some effort. The velvet bag the cabinets came in was a lovely touch. Not sure what I'll use those for now. Cedar pillows? Scarecrows? Anyway, setup was a breeze. The OCD in me printed out the manual a few days prior to their arrival and it was and wasn't unjustified. It was justified in that it reassured me the subs were an easy set-up. It wasn't justified in that the subs were a stoopid easy set-up: virtually no manual needed at all. Since I got a couple, placement was pretty straight forward: outboard of my 2-channel speakers. Being the "knuckle dragging" audiophile that I am (thanks Kevin), I hooked these up speaker-level input, cuz I want ALL the info time-aligned, signal-aligned, artist-aligned, and planetarily-aligned. No worries. Bing bang boom, Bob's your brother's Uncle. The "big" question was the app. There has been some sketchy talk on the interwebs and previous reivews concerning Elac's app. I didn't find the app "glitchy". Using the DSP worked... perfectly. And I haven't had any issues with the app not remembering the last used settings. But, you want to know about how to set the parametric EQs? How do you do that? Night school? Alien tutorial? Not a word in the manual or at Elac's website about setting those parameters, which is a bit frustrating. I have pretty high HiFi IQ, but not with setting up the parametric EQ for a sub, let alone dual subs. So, I'm relying on the DSP at the moment. How's it doing you ask? Aces... four of a kind. So what, me worry? Not so much but it would be nice to have access to Elac's braintrust on setting up the subs without the DSP to satisfy my audiophile OCD. What else? Oh, how to they sound. Ummmm, I'm in Nir-effing-vana. Tight. Fast. Correct... No hint of anything resonating imperfectly except the china. Q: Why in the world didn't Elac sell many dozens upon hundreds of these (I'm assuming)? A: Because they are not HT subs. They do indeed roll off at their low end in a way which is not compatible with explosive HT usage. But this does not come as a surprise to me. Why you ask? How could I know just how these performed since there is such a dearth of useful data points on the web about these subs? Because Kevin's video with Andrew Jones was right... on... point. Prior to this purchase I made on other purchase from Upscale, which I don't believe had a review by Kevin. I've loved watching Kevin's videos just for the entertainment value. Now I know that he does not throw loaded dice. Thank you Kevin for your straight-up insightful reviews of the product you sell. Penultimately, and by no means second to an afterthought, the finish of these subs. OMG, Elac did a fantastic job of the fit and finish on the Adante Sub 3070. Top to bottom stunners. I got the "Satin Rosewood". They are no joke hotties. From the feet, to the outriggers, to the vinyl rosewood (seems like they're milled out of log to me), to the drivers, etc... heirloom subwoofer. So, again, how do they sound? I've put everything I can find through these things, from my own collection and Tidal, at normal to slighty-mental volumes and they perform exactly that much better than you think they will. So, why only four stars? The app lacks instruction. Yes, I need some instruction... The Elac website has no working link to the manual for this sub... seriously? The firmware update portion of their website is very barebones, and not terrifically helpful. I'm not entirely sure that my firmware is up to date, even though I assiduously followed the directions to bring mine up to date just in case. So, please, Kevin, Andrew, petition Elac to make this right. I'd like to have these showpieces in my system for a decade of un-frustrating usage. Have Elac publish useful information on the app to control these subs and support/update information at their website. They deserve it. This is a five star sub with three star support. It kills me to not give them five stars...

Very few reviews on this sub. Only review I could find was lumped in with the Adante speaker review. Was hesitant to pull the trigger because there’s just so little information on these unlike the REL subs. But watching Kevin’s video and how I could adjust with the app really sold me. I had a pair of Vandersteen 2wq subs that had served me very well for the past 18 years, but it was time for an upgrade. Boy am I glad that I pulled the trigger! Let me start by saying if you are planning to sneak these into your house, forget it. The pair I bought was shipped on a pallet and the two boxes stacked is about the size of a fridge. Unboxing was not fun by myself and these things are pretty heavy. They’re very well built and fit and finish are amazing. But let’s get to sound. Again, I’m coming from a pair of pretty well regarded subs, but the Vandys were limited in adjustments and I could only move them around so much. Once I got the 3070s, ran the Auto EQ, made a few adjustments with the app and I had perfect bass for two channel like I never had before. I used the high level inputs and it sounds great, tight, controlled bass and blended perfectly with my Merlin VSMs. I also tried with the low level connections but found the high level much better. I also disagree with Kevin’s review. I like to occasionally listen to rap with my kids- while the woofers are tight and controlled, I can definitely rattle the license plate on my car and all the other cars in the general vicinity with a pair of these! I’ve honestly would have been happy with these if I paid full price for them, but since I got a pair for about the price of one at the original price, I think it may be my best audio purchase ever and I’ve been in this hobby for over 30 years! If you’re on the fence get it and don’t look back. One last thing- my room is about 15X20 with vaulted ceilings. I probably could have gotten by with a single but went with a pair since I’ve always preferred dual subs.

Very good sounding but the app to control them remotely is still glitchy and not explained with any instructive directions
