“Excellent quality piece of kit. Love the hybrid configuration. I was initially looking for a full up, tube integrated. With all the research I did, I came to the conclusion that I really did not want to deal with the problems that come with all-tube amps. Tube swapping sounds fun until you realize the tubes you are swapping in cost more than the amp itself. (Mainly talking about the ChiFi gear.) Then I stumbled across this Vincent Audio SV-500 MK. With this unit I get the best of both worlds. Reminds me of the old Luxman Brid hybrid integrated amp from years back. The sound quality on the SV-500 MK is stellar. I didn't really want BT but I am surprised at how good it sounds. Like most reviews, I find the internal DAC is good quality but easily surpassed by a good standalone DAC. I'm currently using a Topping E-70 Velvet. The speakers are vintage JBL 4311B Studio Control Monitors, an excellent match with the SV-500. Bass response is outstanding with the tone defeat activated. Plenty of power. Lots of air around the individual instruments. Solid vocals, both male and female. The JBL's really showcase this aspect. Seems to play well with all music genres. What else can I say. I think I definitely made the right choice with this integrated amp and with choosing Upscale Audio.”
