“These VT-229 tubes were recommended by the amp manufacturer, Audio Mirror so I opted to give them a try. I'm thrilled with them compared to the previous two tube models I'd tried (One set being Sophia 6SL7). I'm not one to take time for reviews, but its warranted here. Instantly these tubes were substantially quieter. Tone and timber of horns is remarkable. Imaging improved greatly. Of all the tube rolling I've done this tube is the second most beneficially profound change I've made. The only concern I have is that one of the tubes pins were corroded and had deposits on them. They were manufactured in 1940's so stands to reason. I cleaned and lightly sanded the pins to provide decent connections.”
