These are amazing speakers. They take a long time to burn in. I auditioned Cornwalls and these have much better imaging. so far the Cornwalls are better for low volume listening, but these will likely open up after burn-in, and we will see. These bring the bass! Couldn't be happier with these or with Upscale Audio. My end-game speakers.

In 1966 I bought Tannoy MG15s, and listened to them until 1998. I tried other speakers but finally decided I needed to replace the old Tannoys with new ones. The Ardens have more than replaced what I used to have. Thank you.

Beautiful full rich sound. Plays everything great. Very realistic sounding speakers. Very clean from top to bottom and they never seem to get overwhelmed. I have owned a crazy number of speakers of every type and I am completely satisfied with these.

I'll start by saying that I did not buy my Tannoys from Upscale Audio, but only due to shipping concerns as I'm on the east coast. I mainly purchase tubes from UA, and am always satisfied with their products and service. The Tannoy Legacy Series is a big middle finger to the narrow, home theater speaker designs prevalent these days. The Arden produces a weighty, wall of sound unlike any speaker I've had in my home. The tonality is extraordinary and the tuning options allow users to customize to their environment. I'm currently running the crossover at "level", but did dial it back when I experimented with an overly bright Classe (CP-800) pre-amp. Tuning ports may be plugged in any number of variations to help with bass overload in certain rooms. Speaking of bass. Oh my. This speaker pair allowed me to sell off a sub EQ, and a pair of 15" sealed subs. They provide enough bass, that I no longer require subwoofers. The Arden's general sound quality in my system is just a touch dark side of neutral, moderately forward and smooth and fatigue free in the highs. It's not a hyper detail kind of speaker (like Wilson, Klipsch, and B&W). And again, the Arden this weighty, sort of chunky sound. Jazz bass is sublime. T.Rex guitars crunch with the weight of a thousand garbage trucks falling from the sky. The only negative I can levy against the speaker is the lack of any finish on the (beautiful) walnut veneer. They come sanded and ready to wax (included), but for the price, I'd rather see something more durable in the way of finish. I avoided the wax, and applied 3 coats of Watco Danish Oil instead. Wax is not a finish in my opinion. On the matter of WAF. I thought my wife would kill me when she saw the size of these in person. Her reaction surprised me..."these are nice, they look like furniture". After years of "I hate all those boxes", she's happy with the aesthetic despite their non traditional (or traditional?) dimensions.

Received a stunning pair of Tannoy Arden speakers from Kevin at Upscale Audio. First, no photos can reveal the true workmanship and beauty of these speakers. Quality exudes in both sight and touch. The style has a cool retro vibe, being both vintage and modern at the same time. The real treat is the music they reproduce. Being an audiophile for many years I have owned many speakers, some much more expensive than these, but I have never experienced such a full-range sound, purity and density of tone, a wall-of-sound soundstage with amazing lifelike imaging. What a treat to be able to listen again to my fun pop recordings, funk, soul, my classic rock, everything sounds alive with energy. Great jazz and classical recordings are dynamic and in your room. It reminds us of why we got into this hobby. Forget that clinical, sterile, thin, weak sound of most other loudspeakers today that sound good with only a handful of recordings. These speakers are big warm hi-resolution fun, they have soul, they push air and fill the room with beautiful full-scale music, with no sub woofers needed. Kevin and his team are top-notch first-class professionals. They care and spend time with you to make sure you will be happy. Probably the most positive and happy experience I have had with any audio purchase.
