For me, the beauty of the Tannoy Canterbury is that it reproduces the full range of music (high to low) even at low volume. I use Pass 60 watt class A amplifiers to drive them in a medium to large room, and I get good sound with a setting of 4-7 on the volume control.

Its me again and putting 5 star rating only because there is no 6 stars rating. After 500 hours I have to say Kevin Deihl was spot on when he said they take 500 hrs to break in. The process has been step-wise and while 300 hrs made me happy, after 500 hrs they become magical. Next time I'll shut my mouth and wait till Kevin says. Thsnks.

They took around 300 hours to break in but aside from that, they are among the best I have ever heard and I was a Hi-End distributor. There is nothing to say other than they would be reference speakers in any room. Tone is natural and the delivery is silky but neutral. Uncompromised scale, air and imaging. The scale, dynamics, size of the stage and the ease with which it delivers driven by 22 wpc amps is totally spectacular. I don't like to use big adjectives but it was hard to stay away from them as I wrote this.

Gorgeous woodwork and grain structure. Still running in, but the sound is very cohesive with great detail, especially now that I have it paired with an Accuphase integrated.
