“Very good sounding speakers if paired with amplification that is not too forward or bright. Tubes would be fine. Soundstage and imaging are superb like everyone else said. Midrange is open and revealing but perhaps at the expense of a very noticeable glare in the lower treble. Female vocals also tend to exhibit excessive sibilance particularly with newer recordings. There's likely to be listener fatigue with these speakers if you like your music loud and for long sessions. Tannoy discontinued making these speakers only after a few years probably due to poor sales. Better grab them before they are all out of stock.”

“Fit, finish, efficiency, design and bass tuning all get 5 stars. However, the highs were off-putting and fatiguing no matter which system I put them into. imaging was very good but soundstage was not overly deep or involving and they did not blend well with REL T5x's in my reference system, so I returned them. I have been into audio for over 51 years and know when to fold 'em even though it cost me $641 to ship them back!”

“Absolutely stunning. Driven by an NAD M32 integrated amp. Dynamic, fast, and accurate. Beautiful craftsmanship that only Tannoy can produce. The best sounding speaker for all genres of music,especially Jazz and classical. Very easy to drive with great efficiency. Something that many speakers have difficulty with is playing them at a low volume. Tannoy excels at this. They can handle hard rock to the quietest, soft rock,and Jazz. There isn't much that these Tannoys can't handle. They produce a very tight,accurate bass with tremendous midrange and soundstage that is expansive and smooth. In summation, you cannot go wrong with any Tannoy speakers. It all depends on your budget.”

“All the statements are true, vocal reproduction is other worldly. This goes for male voices as well as female. Treble is sharp and discrete. No blurry splash. Bass is tight and can go very deep when the source material contains it. No resonance to be found. Outstanding (visual) woofer control. Drivers play loud deep bass effortlessly. The build quality and finish is superb. I have the speakers placed close to the back wall, wide separation (70% of room width). No toe in. The speakers have fantastic dispersion so sound stage is kept wide. Imaging is "spooky" if the source material is recorded well. Great speakers require great recordings. The Tannoys reward these well!”

“Great speakers. I think bad placement is why One reviewer is disappointed. I had the same experience when I got Them starten playing - hollow midrange, loud base out of phase. I needed to place them much closer to the wall. Since they have the concentric drivers with great 3d depth of sound does not suffer from the proximity. Using a very neutral cable.”
