“I sill enjoyed my excellent 1988 speakers but wondered if more recent technology could beat them. The answer is a definite yes. My experience with these Tannoys confirms what I had learned from reviews. I hear better definition and separation between the instruments and voices and a better sound stage. My wife volunteered that she can hear the improvement too. My room is quite live, yet I don't sense a problem with either excessive treble or excessive bass, with the preamp at its straight-up settings. This speaker lacks an adjustable tweeter, I was considering buying a different model to get that, but I am glad I chose the the trade-off I did. I can't say enough, also, about the upscale service I received from Ken and Kevin. Their advice was responsive to my personal preferences and spot-on. In addition, when told they did not have this speaker in the oak finish, I was disappointed and decided to keep shopping. After hearing this, Kevin went to his warehouse just to make sure, and lo and behold found one pair hiding. His inventory had been in error. They were double-packed for extra protection and got to me two days after I bought them. Thank you very much, Upscale Audio.”
