“I adore the hydraulics of this device, its beautiful and solid construction (and heft), and its overall performance. The action of the lifting arm is triggered by the release of a clasp (held by a screw) when the tonearm hits the wand. It is easy to find the right location to position the Tru-Lift. The more challenging aspect is that the screw that holds the clasp needs to be adjusted frequently, and it is difficult to achieve the proper tension: too loose and the arm pops up prematurely- banging into your tonearm; too tight and it doesn't lift and your stylus skips along the inside of the run-out groove until you pick it up. This is still an excellent product, but constantly needs attention and can be a little frustrating at times.”
