“On my system, the 803 Gold Pin's are fabulous, and they make the music live and breathe. But know that for the first week they are shrill & screechy, but once they get some hours on them they round out, and it sounds like there is a band in my living room. No floating heads and everything is where it's supposed to be. I've been trying to move away from vintage tubes, and these tubes certainly deliver.... They are paired with some GL ECC81/B739, and Mullard KT-88. Monitor Audio RS8 Silver. JD”

“I listen to these back to back with Genalex's Gold Lions and I still haven't completely figured out what my pre-amp is bringing to my party - no brainer you should a stash some of these bad boys. If I had to choose just one for my smaller bedroom rig it would be these - more detail ? I think so - more slam ( definitely ) - darker spaces ? yes - maybe not as much bloom - not quite as holographic ?”

“I discovered the phono preamp I purchased as a demo unit (from a different store) had a missed match set of tube types and brands. I purchased these to upgrade with matched set of correct type of tube for the unit. The music from my system after the upgrade was far superior to what it was. Greater sound stage and detail. This has started a domino affect and I’m now upgrading the tubes in my power amps with Ken select.”
