“Tube swapping is very subjective, these 6L6s throw a wider sound stage than the mullard el-34s they replaced, albeit with less sparkle in the mid-range. I am enjoying the improved imaging. They are being run in single ended triode mode.”

“I bought a quad of the Tung-Sol 6L6 tubes from Kevin. They are still breaking in and are a large improvement over any other 6L6 I have tried so far in my Quicksilver Audio Mid-Mono amps. Very transparent and very quiet tubes, with great balance between bass/mid/treble. I would recommend this tube for hi-fi applications.”

“This tube has the beautiful, extended range and warm, harmonically rich timbre of the 1960's GE 6L6GC "egg". With this tube as with those tubes, everything shines through. No frequency is attenuated, and its up to you and your system to tweak the sound stage to your taste, not the other way round.If the SED 6L6GC is a direct replacement for the Sylvania 6L6GC-STR,and it is, consider the Tungsol 6L6GC-STR a direct replacement with musical reliability, for the General Electric 6L6GC.”
