“I recently upgraded to the LUMIN T2, it’s a beautiful sounding music streamer. I have been using a primaluna Dialogue amp, these are wonderful amplifiers, you can’t go wrong. I wanted to try something a little different, like VK-56, most important the design technology was triode and it was affordable. I did love my primaluna so I was little scared, you guys know, it doesn’t take much to mess up you system. I went ahead with BAT. As you probably know the VK-56 uses only balanced inputs so had to change interconnects.I went from nordost blue heaven to the Heimdall-2 balanced. I believe in system setup, it pays in the end result! I also don’t like multiple changes, but I didn’t have much Choice, I knew that the Heimdall was a way better interconnected, and it was! So as it turned out, everything came and I got it hooked up and started to let it burn in. I have been playing with this audio hobby for 50 years and I know it takes time for this stuff to break in. Its hard not to listen to products out of the box, but we all do. The first 20-30 hours it sounded good but something wasn’t quite there yet. As I got to about 60 hours, everything transformed in to the magic I love to hear! I know one thing for sure, the nordost wires are nasty until they burn in. The guys at BAT told me that about 50 hours would get most the burn in done. I’m at the point where things will continue to improve, but over the hard part. I believe in simplicity, I run my LUMIN direct to the VK-56 using Leeds volume control, no pre-amp in the way. As scared as I was to change amplifiers, all I can say is this amp is in a class by itself. It,s transparent to the source and has a ( if you will ) a triode purity in the midrange, with no triode drawbacks. All I can say is I really do love this VK-56 amplifier. It was a really nice upgrade to my audio system!”
