The woodwork and finish are first class. Sonically they really surprised me with such beautiful musicality. I didn’t expect them to perform as well as they do. Love listening to them, very happy with the Linton and the service from Upscale was perfect. Four days from order to arrival, West coast to East. Thanks!

Wow, this is a lot of speaker for the money. These loudspeakers are for the music lover. They will play all the top audiophile recordings with ease and clarity but they will also play your favorite songs that may not be a top tier recording. They have delicacy, or can be powerful to match the music requirements. Solo female voice, jazz, classical, or classic rock they play it all. I have been using my Rogue Sphinx integrated with fantastic results. I haven't tried any of my 5 other amps because they just can't get any better. I have added a good sub so I can't really say how the low bass is without the sub but my sub blended so perfectly, I never turn it off. These are a good match for a budget tube system, your first system, or like me a long time audiophile that just likes music.

Thanks for the review, Russell! When we first opened up a pair of those for demo, it mysteriously disappeared and was found in one of our employee offices all set up in their work system! They really are speakers for the music lover, and rightly one of the most popular ones we sell.

Excellent, highly recommend. Upscale is fantastic -- thanks to Al for the help with the order and chatting equipment. Shipped same day, excellent packaging (although, the labels on the bags for the left and right speakers were mixed up and there was a small blemish on one of the gold speaker plugs). I'm in my 30s and fairly new to owning hifi equipment. These are replacing vintage Polk Studio Montior 5B's. I'm driving these with a 1978 Technics SA-700 (110W @ 4Ohms). I'm just loving these speakers -- fantastic resolution, soundstage, and rich, big sound -- a real pleasure to listen to. It's like "just one more song,” with the hours passing by. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing. I was concerned about the reports of excess bass or "undefined" or "flabby" bass. When placed in the corners of the room, right up to the back wall, yes -- there is excess bass. But even with this placement, they don't sound bad. Currently, I have them spaced about 6' apart, 7" inches from the back wall, 3’ from the nearest side-wall, and slightly toed in. There is a notable “sweet spot” in terms of soundstage. Alice Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Nina Simone, The Lounge Lizards, Bobby Hutcherson, Moondog, Tom Ze, Tim Maia, Fleetwood mac, Dirty Projectors, Joni Mitchell, Robert flack, Pharoah Sanders, Gabor Szabo: all stunning — so fun. Vocals are centered, instruments spread out nicely. Bass sounds good, tight, and centered — songs like: U Can't hold No Groove by Victor Wooten, or Flight of the Cosmic Hippo Bela Fleck (bass also Victor Wooten), or Up All Night by SAULT sounds incredible (at least to me [and friends]). Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, etc etc is great. As stated everywhere, the veneer is stunning (I have the Walnut with matching stands), and the build quality is very good. I do wish Wharfedale didn’t brand the grills and especially the stands (I turned them around, so that the logo is in the back…much nicer). Overall, very happy and looking forward to hearing them with a modern hifi amp...

First of all and very importantly the speakers and stands arrived double boxed! Double boxing costs Upscale a bunch of money and not only in materials and labor costs but it also increases the shipping cost. This is customer service on a very high level and I appreciate it so thanks Kevin! I love the speakers. The cabinet workmanship is nothing short of amazing. The stands are steel with two veneered blocks mounted at the top and bottom of each stand and they are very solid and very heavy. They arrive fully assembled with the spikes already attached. Also they come with matching spikedisks that protect your floors from the spikes if that's good for you. How they do all if this for the money is a mystery. The sound for the first ten hours or so was slightly muffled and I thought maybe they were defective but I was patient and then the sound opened up and wow. They are detailed without being clinical. The sound is plush, thick and human. These Lintons are about having an experience and also about having fun. This is art, not science. And I want to point out that all I have for an amp is a twenty plus year old Sony receiver. I'm planning on updating my electronics later this Spring and I can't wait. So now you know where I stand. To be able to get overall quality like this for this amount of money is just incredible. Have fun with whichever speakers you get but have fun.

This was my first time purchasing from Upscale Audio and you have made a customer for life! Fedex had misplaced one of the four boxes for my new Wharefedale Linton Speakers and I was planning to go out of town so Al at Upscale Audio made numerous calls to FedEx to get things straightened out, and my speakers and stands are comfy cozy in my Man Cave! Me 1 Porch Pirates 0 Companies talk a lot about customer service but actions speak louder than words, and the folks at Upscale Audio deliver on thier promises! Oh, and how do the Lintons sound? Amazing! I was using a paid of Klipsch Heresy IIIs and they just wore you out after a long time listening. Not only do these Lintons sound incredible, but they look right at home with my other Vintage Audio Gear and the finish is incredible. I don't consider myself an Audiophile, but I am always looking for the next great sound...I am powering the Wharefedales by both a Vintage Sansui AU20000 and a Willsenton Tube amp, they sound incredible with both and they are very efficient, they don't need a lot of power to make them really perform. Do yourself a favor and skip the other guys and let Upscale Audio earn your business, you won't be disappointed.

A fun speaker in every regard; as eager to deliver soulful horns and vocals as it is to rock out. I don't think you'll find a more pleasing speaker at anywhere near the same money. And kudos to Upscale Audio for the informed recommendation, the speedy delivery, and the fantastic packing job.

Love these speakers. The cabinets are fantastic quality. The sound is amazing. I can sit a listen to music for hours (over 6 last sunday) with these speakers. Listening to flac files from Marantz NR1200. Was looking for a traditional 3-way speaker that was NOT a tall skinny tower, they look ugly to me. These fit the bill perfect. I listen to classic rock, pop, rap and country and they sound fantastic with all those types of music. Try these, you wont be disappointed.
