“Switch totally failed. Bought 12 months ago almost to day so just out of warranty. Switching did not feel good and positive like the VW genuine item from day one. Switch hardly ever used as it was mostly in automatic lights mode, unless wife happened to drive car as she still puts lights on manually at night. Had MOT today so had to check lights last night, pulled switch to check fog lights and whole of switch centre came right out. The centre of the switch inside is like a stalk with locking mechanism which was all broken. Had to butcher the switch to remove as switch can only be removed and refitted if in full working order. I am on 5th T4/T5 now and have put 200k miles on vehicles without any switch problems. This item was such poor quality. I spoke to Vee Dub Transporters today who said if I had photos they could possibly do something. I though the switch was older than it was as I could not remember when I bought it so took no photos of broken switch. Vee Dub Transporters tell me they are looking for a new supplier for these switches but could not help me out. This switch was such poor quality I cannot beleive I am the only one who has had a problem so am dissapointed with the response I got. £49.99 + postage for a piece of rubbish that did not last 12 months. Avoid this item like the plague.”
