“Converting a panel van to kombi/day van I was surprised to learn that there is no legal requirement to fit seat belts retrospectively. I'm not having my family travel around without seat belts so I ordered these. They arrived after a couple of days well packed in a jiffy bag. I fitted them myself by drilling a 12mm hole in the C pillar. The challenge was to get them up inside the pillar and fasten them in place. I had a bit of tin metal trunking which I hammered flat and then folded one end around the seat belt plate to make a guide that it can slide in and out of. I slotted this up the inside of the C pillar lining the plate up with the hole worked perfectly for the first one. The second one was a pain to get there and took some swearing and time to get it in place. I used a medium strength thread lock on both just for peace of mind. I documented the whole process with photos just in case there are any questions come MoT time. Overall very pleased with the result.”
